Breath & reboot
Over-run with life and work I have come to realise that there will never be a suitable amount of time for me to do the redesign I would like, so instead an extensive search of Wordpress themes led me to Grid Focus from http://5thirtyone.com/,
Some minor tweaking and pimping aside I have left the theme fairly intact partly down to a lack of time to play with it but mostly because it simply works. Strong grid, elegant colour ways and nice clean code for my intermittent abuse.
The Purpose and the Meaning
I have been playing around with various redesigns since I started working at Avian. If I’m honest most of them were never intended to be used, although most have at some time been applied to this webspace. The majority were just playthings, extended thought transcribed to code, so why should I think that this time any of it will be different, surely this iteration will fade into the next?
Well, maybe.
The purpose, however, is to remove the temptation to tinker with the template and enable me to focus more on what I actually want to do which is write. Not through some grand nescessity to share the fruits of my fecundity or a desperate need to impart the innermost secrets of my soul. Rather I just want to take note of those things that interest me and record my life as I slip through it.
Meaning?
Well yes, I’m sure there is one.
